About Me

I’m Matt Owens, a software engineer, musician, and man with many hobbies. I have a master’s degree in data science from the University of Illinois and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and applied math from the University of Scranton. My interests in technology relate to machine learning, self-hosted projects, and the role of technology in social good. Some of those hobbies include cooking, cycling, watching motorsports, and racing cars on the internet.

I work as a software engineer in the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where I work on tooling used for genomics research. Prior to that, I worked on applications related to options trading at Susquehanna International Group.
