A woman decides to commit suicide and ends up in a library which contains books for different versions of her life based on the choices she could have made. She can choose books and live that life from that moment forward until she discovers it’s not the life for her. I liked the premise, but wasn’t a fan of the execution. I think the author tried way too hard to drive his point home, to the point it felt like a chore to get through the last third. I’m curious if the author was inspired by A Short Stay in Hell because this felt like a happier version of the library setup in that book.
